We are a family of six, hence our Six Takes on travel. In the true spirit of the mission of chronicling our experiences, it has been the responsibility of each of our family members to describe her/himself. Briefly, then, this is who we are:
Sam: About me: I am the Dad and sixth youngest in this family, a Spanish teacher and PhD, a runner and a wannabe soccer player. 2 things I like: I like to watch movies and read. 1 thing I don’t like: big crowds. My favorite place I’ve visited: Valencia because of the wide variety of things to do and see and eat.
Amy: About me: I am a Mom of four boys, a creative thinker, amatuer cook and baker and food snob. 2 things I like: I love exploring new places and foods, and photography. 1 thing I don’t like: repetitive mundane tasks. My favorite place I’ve visited is the fishing village of Cudillero, Spain. Every place is a new adventure though, so wherever I am tends to be my favorite!
Patrick: About me: I am the eldest son, a writer and a nerd. 2 things I like: My dog, Lilly, coffee, anime and Persona Five. 1 thing I don’t like: The system. My favorite place I’ve visited is Toledo because I like being in an old city.
Michael: About me: I am the second oldest son, a student, runner & creative thinker. 2 things I like: Eating Spanish food, especially tortilla de patatas and carcamusas. I like to be outside biking, climbing trees & being with my brothers. 1 thing I don’t like: Madrid. It’s my least favorite place, the soccer team & tourists and overall city. My favorite place I’ve visited is Toledo, Spain because of the old buildings and history and that it is still old to this day.
Charlie: About me: I am the third oldest son, a fun guy, a soccer player and I am always hungry. 2 things I like: I like playing board games like Battleship, Exploding Kittens and Uno. I Love FC Barcelona and my favorite player is Lionel Messi. 1 thing I don’t like: Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo. My favorite place I’ve visited is Fontaine de Vaucluse, France because it’s really nice there, it’s fun to visit and explore “the source” of the Sorgue River.
Wesley: About me: I am the fourth oldest son, I have red hair, I am a good soccer player and I like to do art. Things I like: I like to cook new things and bake cookies, I like to watch soccer games and snuggle with my dog. 1 thing I don’t like: I don’t like beef. My favorite place I’ve visited is the restaurant Nut’ in Porto, Portugal, (www.nutportugal.pt) I had the churritos with nutella!
